Japanese automaker Nissan has repeatedly assembled unusual versions of its best-selling electric vehicle, the Leaf, – just remember the racing twin-engine NISMO RC or the Open Car convertible. However, the new Nissan RE-LEAF is the most unusual option for a production electric vehicle.

The creators are positioning the model as a vehicle for emergency services who will provide assistance to victims in disaster areas. Since one of the main problems during rescue operations is the lack of centralized power supply, the Nissan RE-LEAF with a 62 kWh battery will act as a mobile power source.

The electric vehicle supports V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) and V2X (Vehicle-to-everything) technologies, it is equipped with three standard 110 / 220V electrical outlets, which can be used to power medical, communications, heating, lighting and other equipment.

Well, in order to get to the disaster sites along destroyed roads, the Nissan RE-LEAF increased the road track (+90 mm in front and +130 mm in the rear) and clearance (+70 mm to 225 mm), as well as installed underbody protection, widened arches , mud flaps and 17-inch off-road tires.

The rear seats were dismantled to accommodate additional equipment, the luggage compartment was separated from the passenger net, in addition, the rescue command post can be placed in the trunk using a 32-inch monitor and an integrated PC.
