Nikon Z fc camera orders exceed expectations, company fails

Nikon today issued two product delay notices. In both cases, we are talking about the Nikon Z fc camera.

In the first notification, the manufacturer is “happy to announce” that it has decided on the release date for the Z fc mirrorless camera and related products, announced at the end of June 2021. If at the time of the announcement the start date of sales was designated July, now a specific date has been named – July 23rd.

At the same time, the manufacturer warns that “some customers who are now making pre-orders will have to wait a while before the goods are delivered.” The company explains that the number of orders for Nikon Z fc cameras and sets of these cameras and Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm f / 3.5-6.3 VR lenses “exceeds expectations.”

Other items that may also be delayed include the aforementioned silver Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm lens and Nikon Z fc camera accessories: DK-32 eyepiece, AN-DC23 strap and Z fc-GR1 extension cord.

The second notice is for the Nikon Z fc camera and Nikkor Z 28mm f / 2.8 Special Edition (SE) lens kit. Deliveries of these kits were to begin at the end of July. However, “the number of orders exceeded expectations,” and delays in the delivery of spare parts do not allow them to be completed on time, so the company decided to postpone the release. The manufacturer promises to announce the new date later.

The novelty supports a 16-pin 12VHPWR power connector, which can transfer up to 600W of power. At the same time, it is claimed that the block is very reliable and provides higher efficiency compared to blocks of the ATX 2.0 standard.

Note that other power supplies do not yet fully support ATX 3.0, so they require a special adapter. It allows you to combine multiple regular 8-pin PCIe power cables into one. The MSI MEG Ai1300P does not have this problem; along with 8-pin PCIe connectors, it has a 12+4 PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR connector.

LG Unveils Huge 97 inch OLED Screen That Delivers 51 Sound

LG today unveiled a huge 97-inch OLED panel and called it its largest OLED screen ever – even though LG already has an OLED TV with that size. What is the peculiarity of the novelty? In the application of Cinematic Sound OLED (CSO) technology. Here the screen acts as a membrane: vibrating over all surfaces (and it is considerable here), sound is created. The creators assure that the sound corresponds to the 5.1 format – and no usual speakers are needed.

In fact, CSO technology is not new – it was used in the LG G8 smartphone. True, that model failed just in sound tests – DxOMark experts noted the absence of low frequencies and numerous artifacts. But, probably, in a few years, LG was able to refine the technology, and now the sound output is much better in quality. In addition, the screen sizes of a smartphone and TV are incomparable.

The new panel uses OLED EX technology, as in the latest flagship LG TVs, so the picture on the screen should be bright and saturated. A commercial TV based on the new 97-inch panel is expected this year, with an estimated price of $25,000.
