Nikon Completes Sales of Its Latest Film Camera

Nikon has announced the completion of sales of its latest film camera, the Nikon F6, which has been in production since 2004.
The Nikon F6 is the last 35mm film camera in Nikon’s history. It entered the market in 2004 and was voted the best film camera available in the digital era.
On the official website of the Japanese manufacturer, the Nikon F6 is marked as obsolete; its sales are discontinued.
The fact that the sixteen-year history of the Nikon F6 is coming to an end has become clear long ago. The camera was discontinued this fall by Nikon Germany. A little earlier, 152 copies of Nikon F6 were recalled due to finding an excess of dibutyl phthalate – a compound dangerous to human health that can cause the formation of cancerous tumors.
Until the last day of its life, Nikon F6 enjoyed great success. In 2015, the model was awarded the Good Design Long Life Design Award for durability and respect.
