‘New ways to watch your favorite shows’: Google releases first big Google TV update in 2023
Google has announced the release of the first major update to Google TV for 2023. The update includes a redesigned main screen, as well as a number of other innovations. Google announced an update under the slogan “New ways to watch your favorite shows on Google TV.”
Google TV has a new family page that offers content rated PG or below – suitable for the whole family, including kids.
An Espanol page has also been added, which will offer a variety of content in Spanish. This includes films, series, telenovelas and live broadcasts. In addition, there are several new pages that were previously tabs, including “Movies” and “Shows”.
On the For You page, users will now see apps, suggestions to continue browsing, and so on. At the bottom there is a new section “Learn even more” – this is where the “Movies”, “Shows”, the family page and the Spanish page are located.
All of this should make it easier to find content to watch, whether you’re looking for something for the whole family or just for yourself. These changes will begin rolling out to set-top boxes and Google TVs starting today, February 23, 2023.
Recall that Google TV is not an independent operating system and not renamed Android TV, but an additional shell for Android TV. It debuted on the Chromecast media player in October 2020.
