New Core i9-11900K vs old Core i9-10900K. The first tests show that the difference in cores prevents a beginner from winning

Intel has already shared benchmarks for its upcoming flagship processor, the Core i9-11900K, today. True, only in games, where in the end the difference with the Ryzen 9 5900X was several percent.

In parallel with this, more voluminous tests of the Core i9-11900K appeared on the Web, but here it is worth noting that the tests were passed not by a serial CPU, but by a qualification sample. However, to all appearances, it is as close as possible to the serial one, except that the maximum frequency is 100 MHz lower.

The source compared the new product with its predecessor, the Core i9-10900K, which, although based on the old architecture, still has two more cores.

And, for example, in the CPU-Z test, these two cores allow the old CPU to bypass the new one in multi-threaded mode. The Core i9-11900K scored 6724 points, while the Core i9-10900K got 7626 points, which is 13% more. In single-threaded, the situation is different: 693 and 623 points, respectively.

As you can see, in different versions of Cinebench the situation is exactly the same: the fresh architecture is faster, but it does not allow to level the difference in two cores. And in 3DMark, the new product is faster in only one of the four tests.

In games, the CPUs are very close, although the old man has more victories in the end.

Such a set of tests, of course, does not allow us to draw final conclusions, but we can assume that, in general, depending on whether the old processor will win or the new one, and often without any huge gap.
