Nvidia’s new graphics cards, which came out just last month, are literally some of the most advanced graphics processing chips around. And what is most interesting is that despite their very high price, they were sold out, according to Nvidia itself, within the first few minutes after opening pre-orders. And in the event that you expected that in the near future Nvidia will establish production and there will be enough video cards for everyone, then you are mistaken. Jen-Hsun Huang, CEO of Nvidia, in an interview with the authoritative publication Tom’s Hardware, said that new batches of Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 or 3090 GPUs will have to wait until 2021.
Also during a recent Q&A session, Jen-Hsun Huang said: “I believe that within a year the demand for our new GPUs will exceed our entire supply.” Moreover, Jacen is partly pleased with such a difficult launch of new video cards, because in this case the problem was not so much in the supply, but in the extremely huge demand. “Even if we knew that the demand for the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 line would be so high, I don’t think we could meet the needs of every potential consumer. In any case, we are now accelerating very strongly. The yield is excellent, the product is fantastic, it just snapped up instantly, ”said Jen-Hsun Huang regarding the acute shortage of new GPUs.
A separate point is to highlight the third video card of the same GeForce RTX 3000 series. We are talking, of course, about the GeForce RTX 3070, which the manufacturer had to transfer just a couple of days ago. Now this video card will go on sale not in the middle of this month, but only on October 29. This move was made with the aim of satisfying as many buyers as possible at the start of sales, because as Nvidia’s management understood, there will be even greater excitement around the upcoming RTX 3070. The reason for this upcoming hype is simple – an extremely low price for its power of 499 dollars.
And it really pleases that the aforementioned tech giant is learning from its mistakes and is moving the release date of the RTX 3070 so as not to repeat the mistake that was made in the case of its older brothers. Well, at the very end, it is worth noting that these delays can play into the hands of Nvidia’s competitor, AMD. The company will present its new video cards on October 28, which will also have support for ray tracing. And if the prices of the new Radeon RXs, as well as their quantity, can satisfy people, then AMD could really go ahead a lot.
