New Apple Watch and HomePod Users Facing Activation Issues on iCloud

Published

on

It became known that new Apple Watch and HomePod users are experiencing difficulty activating devices. The problem appears to be caused by a spike in iCloud traffic driven by Christmas.

Users are reporting “verification failure” on new devices, be it Apple Watch or HomePod. One of those who ran into the problem indicates that the Apple Watch SE they purchased does not go through the iCloud sign-in process. Despite the fact that the pairing process was launched several times from the iPhone, the result was never achieved. Another user reported that his HomePod got stuck in the “setup” phase after several attempts. None of Apple’s recommended solutions work.

All of this indicates that the source of the crashes is the Apple server. The company is unlikely to be indifferent to the frustration of users from the inability to use the new product. Therefore, there is confidence that Apple will soon fix the iCloud issue so that people can use their gifts / purchases at least on New Year’s Eve.
