NASA’s InSight probe sends farewell selfie from Mars ahead of ‘retirement’

The US Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has published the latest “selfie” of the InSight lander from the surface of the Red Planet.

NASA's InSight probe sends farewell selfie from Mars ahead of 'retirement'

InSight took this photo on April 24, 2022, the 1211th Martian day of the mission. In the photo, the lander is covered in much more dust than its first selfie, taken in December 2018, shortly after landing. The agency also released an animated image that makes it easy to see how dusty the module is in the first and last selfies.

The robotic arm must make several movements in order to capture a full selfie. As InSight’s dusty solar panels produce less and less power, the NASA team will soon place the module’s arm permanently in a resting position – the so-called “retirement pose”. It is planned that this will happen before the end of May 2022.

The InSight lander currently receives only 500 watt-hours of power per day from solar panels, while initially generating 5,000 watt-hours of energy each day. As a result, InSight is now curtailing scientific activities in order to conserve energy as best as possible.

The gaming smartphone Asus ROG Phone 6 will be presented on July 5, but today multiple images of the device have appeared on the Web.

As you can see, the design will still be very unusual with many different elements and accents, but this is normal for a gaming smartphone. The camera module will change somewhat, although in general Asus is clearly not trying to make the new model radically different from the previous one.

The renders also show a new version of the proprietary AeroActive Cooler 6, which can also act as a stand, as well as a Devilcase Guardian Lite Plus case.

Despite the fact that the 13th generation Intel Core processors will be released at best in the fall, at least one offer for the sale of the top-end Core i9-13900K has already appeared on the Web.

Buy the unreleased top Core i9-13900K for $426. One such processor has already been sold

The seller asked for only $426 for the CPU, which is quite good for such a processor. Of course, you need to understand that this is an early sample, but the seller claimed that everything works and even overclocking is supported.

Unfortunately, the owner covered up all the codes, so it is impossible to determine at least some details about the CPU. The seller himself indicated that the processor has 8 large cores and 16 small ones, which corresponds to the configuration of the top Raptor Lake.

The processor was sold very quickly. Perhaps in the near future its new owner will publish some CPU tests.
