Named the cost of the Radeon RX 6600, and it does not please

Yesterday, images of the Gigabyte Radeon RX 6600 Eagle line appeared on the Web, and today the price of this model became known: a promising novelty was lit up on the websites of two Australian Internet sellers. The prices (at least retail), alas, are not encouraging.

Taking into account local taxes, the cost of the video card is $ 680. Recall that we are talking about a model based on GPU Navi 23 XL with 1792 stream processors and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 128-bit bus. According to preliminary data, this model will be inferior to the GeForce RTX 3060 in performance. In comparison, the Asus ROG Strix RX 6600 XT comes in at $ 195 more in Australia.

On the website, the cost is indicated in Australian dollars

The official premiere of the Radeon RX 6600 is expected in late September – early October. Perhaps the official cost of the new item will be $ 300 (the recommended retail price of the Radeon RX 6600 XT is $ 380), but it is already clear that, given the current shortage in the market, it will cost users about twice as much.

In the near future, thousands of Tesla owners will be able to test the FSD autopilot

Published

on

From next week, Tesla plans to give access to the FSD (Full Self-Driving) autopilot function to approximately 1,000 people a week. At the moment, only about 2,000 drivers can use FSD in general.

At the same time, as mentioned earlier, drivers will have to prove that they themselves drive well. Telemetry data from the last week and Tesla Insurance calculator will be used for estimation.

During the first days, only those drivers who will be assessed for the maximum 100 points will receive access. Tesla will then lower the entry threshold little by little, but it’s unclear how much.

Also remember that access to the FSD function, which is still in beta, costs $ 10,000. So not every Tesla owner will be able to try out the best autopilot available in a production car.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 may receive a solar panel

Published

on

Samsung has been producing smartwatches since 2013. The most recent novelties are now the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (review). And the company continues to work in this direction.

A new smartwatch patent was obtained by Samsung from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and describes “An electronic device containing multiple types of solar cells.”

the patent describes a Samsung Galaxy Watch with a strap that has solar panels embedded on both sides of the watch case. Such a watch will be able to recharge its battery from the sun. Placing solar cells on either side of the watch case allows for ample amount of sunlight to be collected, no matter how the watch is worn.

The Korean manufacturer describes the use of various types of solar cells that can provide relatively high efficiency.

As noted by LetsGoDigital, such a watch may come out under the name Galaxy Watch 5 or Galaxy Watch Solar, but no specifics are yet known. Brands like Garmin and Casio have already shown that such solutions are possible. This allows us to hope for a relatively early release of such Samsung watches.
