Geely introduced a new car brand designed to carry passengers

Geely has announced the launch of a new Cao Cao Automobile brand. The first car will be presented on March 29, it is known that it will be called Cao Cao 60.
Geely already operates its Cao Cao Mobility-branded taxi division, which competes with Didi (China’s alternative to Uber), has 150 million users and is aiming for an IPO in 2023.
The new automotive brand Geely will focus on the production of vehicles designed to carry passengers. Previously, Cao Cao Mobility used electric vehicles from Ruilan Auto and the Geely Geometry brand. It was mainly a Geometry A sedan with a range of 600 km and a Ruilan Maple 80V minivan (by Ruilan Auto) supporting battery swap. The agreement between Ruilan and Cao Cao was signed in April 2022. Ruilan Auto is a joint venture between Lifan and Geely. It is an automaker currently focusing on electric vehicles with replaceable batteries.
In September last year, it was reported that Cao Cao Mobility and Geely’s self-driving driving division began a collaboration on a robotic taxi project to build a self-driving platform.
Geely Holding owns many brands, including Lotus, Volvo, Zeekr, Lynk&Co and many more. A month ago, Geely announced another series called Galaxy, which will release seven new models in the next two years.

The latest crossover Toyota Crown Sport 2023 was filmed for the first time on public roads

Crossover Toyota Crown Sport noticed on public roads in Japan before the official announcement. The photos were published by the Japanese edition of BestCarWeb.
The Toyota Crown Sport is expected to be available exclusively in hybrid versions and only with all-wheel drive. At the moment, the car is undergoing sea trials, which should be presented this year.
Toyota Crown Sport, although wrapped in a matte film, does not have a camouflage color, so all the details can be seen. Only the model name on the trunk lid and the PHEV inscription in the corner are hidden.
At the time of the announcement of the Toyota Crown, it was announced that the lineup would include a classic sedan, an “all-terrain” cross-sedan, a raised hatchback and a crossover, which the company calls the “station wagon”.

The sunset of another era. Volkswagen says goodbye to the Volkswagen Passat sedan

Volkswagen is phasing out the highly popular Volkswagen Passat sedan in Europe. A car in such a body will no longer be produced and sold in Europe.
The company has clarified that the next-generation Volkswagen Passat model (pictured), which will debut in the coming weeks or months, will be sold exclusively as a station wagon. Company chief Thomas Schäfer told Automotive News Europe that the decision to ditch the good old sedan was made despite the fact that it was the best-selling car in its segment in Europe last year. In the United States, the Passat has been discontinued after the 2022 model year.
The head of Volkswagen said that deliveries of the new Volkswagen Passat 2024 station wagon should begin in September, which means that the official announcement will take place this summer or even earlier. The midsize car will no longer be built in Emden (Germany) as production is moved to Bratislava (Slovakia). At the same time, it is worth noting that the production of the previous generation sedan ended in January 2022, as we reported.
The assembly of the sister model Skoda Superb will be moved from Kvasin (Czech Republic) to the same plant in Bratislava. The next Superb will be offered in both liftback and wagon body styles.
Schaefer told Automotive News Europe that deliveries of Skoda’s flagship model will begin towards the end of the year. In 2022, the Superb was the second best selling car in its segment behind the Passat.
Earlier it became known that Toyota Motor plans to stop sales of the Camry sedan in the Japanese market, focusing on countries.
