In China, pre-orders for Xiaomi’s new large EA Pro TV have begun. The model with the 86-inch display is priced at just $860. Retail sales of the new TV in China will start very soon – on December 10th.

Xiaomi EA Pro 86 received a metal case, the display occupies 97.3% of the front panel area. The screen is characterized by a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, it supports MEMC technology. A pair of 20W speakers are responsible for sound reproduction.

Researchers who are developing new non-invasive laser therapies to improve brain function have confirmed that people’s short-term memory can be improved using a laser. It stimulates the right prefrontal area in the brain. This is called transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM).

The first studies were conducted on mice, and now scientists from the University of Birmingham and Beijing Normal University of China have conducted similar tests on humans. They were attended by 90 men and women aged 18 to 25 years. They were asked to memorize a series of items that were shown on a screen.

The experiments used a laser with a wavelength of 1064 nanometers. After 12 minutes of stimulation, short-term memory improved up to 10%.

So far, scientists do not know exactly why this effect works and how long it lasts. Therefore, more research is expected. However, in the future, it is possible that tPBM technology will become a solution for non-invasive and non-pharmacological treatment of ADHD (hyperactivity disorder) or other attention deficit disorders.

Experiments of this kind are being conducted not only with lasers, but also with electrical and ultrasonic brain stimulation. However, none of the technologies has reached the commercial level so far.
