Volvo has launched its first electric car, the XC40 Recharge compact SUV. The car is manufactured at a factory in Ghent, Belgium. Volvo even shared a couple of photos from the assembly line.

At the same time, the company confirmed the key characteristics of the model. Thus, XC40 Recharge is equipped with a traction battery with a capacity of 78 kWh, full charging of which provides a mileage of 400 km (WLTP cycle). The car is all-wheel drive, it is equipped with two electric motors with a total capacity of almost 410 hp. The XC40 Recharge has a built-in 11 kW charger. Acceleration from 0 to 97 km / h takes 4.7 seconds, top speed is limited to 180 km / h.

According to Volvo representatives, all XC40 Recharge, which will be held this year, have already been sold. However, the volume of production is not reported. The cost of the car is expected to start at $ 55,000 (in the US).
