Microsoft has released an update to Microsoft Defender, the built-in antivirus solution for Windows operating systems.
Update number 1.395.318.0 for Windows 10 and Windows 11 adds detection of various Trojans, ransomware and backdoors, and also brings “critical” performance fixes that will improve PC performance, but not only.
However, for many users, the most noticeable change will be that Microsoft Defender has learned to detect pirated versions of the OS, reset activation and block the AutoKMS (Key Management Service), which hackers and pirates used to activate Windows for free. This is one of the most popular tools for bypassing the Microsoft licensing system.

Patching for Inception vulnerability in AMD processors can reduce performance by more than two times
Fixing the recently found AMD Inception vulnerability, as shown by the first tests, leads to a huge decrease in performance.
The authors of the Phoronix portal tested the AMD Epyc 7763 CPU with a new firmware designed to fix the vulnerability, and found that in a number of tasks there was no impact on performance, but in some the drop turned out to be simply huge: up to 54%, that is, more than twice. Most often, a significant decrease in performance is recorded in applications working with databases, code compilation, design and image processing.
You need to understand that in this case we are talking about the server processor and the corresponding tests under Linux. How bad things are in the case of consumer Ryzen is not yet clear.

Telegram blocked for national security reasons and to preserve the integrity of personal data in Iraq
The Iraqi Ministry of Communications has announced that it has blocked the popular messaging app Telegram for national security reasons and in order to preserve the integrity of the personal data of users who were allegedly mistreated by the app.
The app is widely used in Iraq for messaging and as a source of news and content sharing. Some channels contain large amounts of personal information, including the names, addresses, and family ties of Iraqis.
The ministry said in a statement that it asked the app to shut down “platforms that leak data from official government agencies and citizens’ personal data… but the company has not responded to any of the requests.”
“The Ministry of Communications reaffirms its respect for the rights of citizens to freedom of speech and communication without prejudice to the security of the state and its institutions,” the statement said.
Telegram did not respond to a request for comment.

A new vulnerability was discovered in AMD processors, which they called Zenbleed. It was discovered by Google Information Security specialists.
Zenbleed affects AMD processors based on the Zen 2 architecture in all variants. That is, first of all, these are Ryzen 3000 desktop CPUs, but also Epyc Rome, Ryzen Threadripper 3000 and others. The vulnerability allows stealing protected information from the processor, such as encryption keys and user logins. At the same time, the attack does not require physical access to a computer or server and can even be performed via javascript on a web page.
Probably the same applies to the PS5, Xbox Series and Steam Deck game consoles, but there are no details here.
AMD already has a patch for server CPUs, but unfortunately, consumer CPUs will receive fixes only in November and December.
