Microsoft will begin to delay letters from users of branded email

Published

on

Microsoft announced stricter policies for users of the Exchange Online email service typically used by Outlook.

Under current regulations, the company enforces send and receive restrictions to combat spam and malware that creates bulk mailings. Receive limits apply to the number of messages per hour that a user, group, or public folder receives. They are 3600 emails per hour.

Until now, this restriction has been “soft” and, in fact, has not been used by the company. However, from April the situation will change. Microsoft announced that it will begin to implement the existing limits gradually until it brings all mailboxes to the established limit of 3600 messages per hour.

If the limit is exceeded, the receipt of mail for the box will be delayed. The restriction is reset once an hour, and after resetting the mailbox restores the ability to receive letters. The owner of this mailbox will receive a restriction notification, and all senders will receive an NDR.
