The update, KB5013942, targets the supported versions of Windows 10 21H1 and 21H2, and is the final update for Windows 10 version 20H2, which has been discontinued since yesterday. It brings security improvements as well as a number of fixes for known bugs and issues.

Specifically, we fixed an issue that caused Internet Explorer to stop working when copying and pasting text. Fixed a critical bug that caused some users to experience a black screen when logging in and out. Also, problems with OneDrive and news on the taskbar.

In addition, Microsoft has indicated which known issues are still present in this release. Among them is an issue when installing from physical media or ISO images, when the outdated version of Microsoft Edge is removed, but the modern version of Microsoft Edge is not installed, as well as an issue with installing fresh OS updates.

Since we are talking about security fixes, the update has the status of mandatory, which will be installed on the PC automatically. Users can only delay installation by a week or two. Attempting to defer security updates multiple times may force a patch to be installed, depending on your Windows Update settings.

As a result, before the end of the year, at least two more portable set-top boxes with Windows that can handle modern games should appear on the market. True, apparently, in both cases we are talking about a Full HD screen, which creates an additional load on the GPU. For the same Steam Deck, the resolution is HD.
