Microsoft tests submersible liquid cooling system for data centers

Microsoft is testing a new server cooling solution for its data centers. This cooling system uses the immersion of the servers in the coolant. When heated, the liquid boils and evaporates, due to which heat is removed. Then the steam is condensed and the liquid again enters the container with the servers.
Coolant developed by 3M is harmless to electronics and boils at only 50 ° C.
According to Microsoft, the new cooling system is highly efficient and handles load changes well. In addition, it does not use up water.
