Microsoft releases second major Windows 10 update for 2020, now available for testing

Following the strategy of two major updates to Windows 10 per year, Microsoft has released the second largest update to its OS this year – it’s called the Windows 10 October 2020 Update (or 2H20) and is already available as a stable version in the Windows Insider channel. The final public version of the update, as the name suggests, will be released in October.

Unlike the first major update of Windows 10 this year – in May – in the October version there will be a minimum of new features (of the most important and interesting – the updated Start menu), instead, the company chose to focus on eliminating various kinds of errors and bugs. This, by the way, will be displayed in the designation: after installing Windows 10 October 2020 Update, the version of Windows 10 will not change (it will still be 2004), only the build number will change – from 19041.xxx to 19042.xxx.
