Microsoft may unveil Windows 11 SE on November 9
Recently, rumors have reappeared about the imminent release of a light version of Windows 11 – Windows 11 SE. Recall that this OS was lit up in mid-June, and now the estimated date of its announcement has appeared: the software novelty can be presented on November 9. Microsoft has scheduled a special event for this day to discuss education-related issues.
Microsoft’s official announcement announcement states: “We will share an inside look at the latest technology and explore the learning gap caused by the pandemic. Hear stories from Microsoft partners, school leaders and selected special guests, and learn about new and existing Microsoft Education technologies“. In general, we will talk about education, and Windows 11 SE, according to rumors, is just designed for low-cost computers used in educational institutions. Such an operating system (and low-cost devices based on it) will directly compete with Chrome OS and Chromebooks.
Along with Windows 11 SE, it may debut an inexpensive laptop running it – Laptop SE. He is credited with a 11.6-inch screen, Intel Celeron N4120 platform (4 cores, 1.1-2.6 GHz), 8 GB of RAM, USB-A and USB-C ports.

Microsoft is working on a new modular version of Windows with AI. It will be similar to Android and MacOS

Microsoft is working on a new version of Windows that will be a modular and customizable version of the OS. The project is called CorePC and is designed to support various form factors.
This is not the first attempt to create a modular OS. Previously, there was Windows Core OS, which also appeared under the name Windows 10X. This system was supposed to be an updated OS without deprecated features and with support for UWP applications. However, she was never released.
As for CorePC, its main feature will be the separation of the system itself, user data and other files. In the current version of Windows, all of this information resides on a single system partition, while CorePC will support multiple partitions. This will speed up system updates, speed up resets, and improve security by making critical sections read-only. A similar approach is used in iPadOS and Android.
Also CorePC will allow Microsoft to make Windows a full-fledged competitor to Chrome OS in terms of size, performance and capabilities.
In addition, a version of the OS, codenamed Neon, is expected within CorePC, which maintains compatibility with legacy applications. Looks like it’s about win32 programs. Finally, a version without backwards compatibility is expected, but with built-in AI and optimization for hardware. This is similar to MacOS with M-series processors. This will allow you to create laptops and PCs that are just as fast and energy efficient.
Of course, these are only plans so far, although, perhaps, development is already underway in the bowels of the company. In any case, the release is still far away, and the situation may change more than once.

Another issue with Samsung Galaxy S23: camera app crashes when trying to use zoom
Samsung’s support page has posted a description of a new issue that Galaxy S23 users are experiencing. Its essence is that the camera application crashes as soon as the user wants to use the 30x zoom (and clicks on the corresponding button in the application).
Samsung has already analyzed the problem and concluded that this happens when the user “too quickly” switches between modes. The bug is promised to be fixed with a patch, and it is even already there – but so far it is being tested within the software development team. For users, the patch will be released in April.
