Microsoft is exploring the possibility of paying for Xbox games with Bitcoin

Published

on

After bitcoin soared by almost 600% in less than a year, many companies began to consider the possibility of accepting this cryptocurrency as a means of payment for their goods or services. In particular, it will soon be possible to pay for Tesla cars in bitcoins, and Microsoft is studying user opinions regarding the use of bitcoin to pay for games and services on its Xbox online store.

Sharp-eyed users of the American Reddit forum captured one of the questions that Microsoft is asking Xbox One and Xbox Series X users as part of a new study. It talks about convenient payment methods, and along with a regular payment card, the options include bitcoin.

Of course, so far there is no talk of any integration of bitcoin and payment mechanisms of a branded online store, but in the future this is quite possible. Especially if the value of this cryptocurrency continues to rise. In this case, Bitcoin will become the same standard means of payment as a debit card or PayPal.
