Microsoft has released updates for Windows 10, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, fixing over a hundred vulnerabilities

Microsoft has released its traditional monthly Patch Tuesday update for the Windows operating system. Cumulative updates are offered for all currently supported versions of Windows 10, as well as veterans of honor such as Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

The update under the number KB5004237 is available for Windows 10 2004, 20H2 and 21H on PCs of ordinary users. In addition, some earlier versions of Windows 10 Enterprise and Education editions, as well as those with Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) support, are supported and updated.

The update for Windows 10 offers a number of fixes and improvements, including for checking logins and passwords, fixing problems with printing and printers, and increasing the security of basic OS operations.

Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 have not been ignored either. It offers fixes for problems with 16-bit applications, and a number of other issues.

As for the security update, Patch Tuesday fixed 117 vulnerabilities in the OS itself and other branded products – Windows, Exchange Server, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Bing, including three zero-day vulnerabilities in Windows. Of these, 13 vulnerabilities are classified as critical and 103 as dangerous. Among other things, this cumulative update also includes a fix for the PrintNightmare print manager vulnerability.

Microsoft ended support for the Windows 7 operating system a year and a half ago – January 14, 2020. However, for corporate users, Microsoft offers paid extended support for Windows 7. They can receive security updates through the Windows 7 ESU (Extended Security Updates) program until January 2023. In 2021, the price of this service has risen to $ 50 per computer, and in 2022 it will rise to $ 100 per computer.
