Microsoft Edge browser is testing the function of cloud storage of files and links
The Canary update channel build of Microsoft Edge has a new feature called Drop. It allows you to host files and links in OneDrive cloud storage, as well as transfer data between devices using a browser.
To access Drop, you need to open the sidebar, where you can drag and drop files and create notes using the Message field. The data will be synchronized with the cloud, but you need to take into account the amount of free space there.
This feature is similar to “Favorites” in Viber and Telegram. The idea, apparently, is to create a cross-platform “storage” for files.
Microsoft is currently A/B testing the feature so it’s only available to a small number of users, so many people may not have the Drop sidebar even if their browser version is the latest.
In addition, Microsoft Edge Canary is also testing a built-in VPN. So far, this feature is available to a limited number of users, and the free amount of data transferred does not exceed 1 GB per month.

Volkswagen Arteon is being retired, although the model sold much better this year than last

The Volkswagen Arteon began being buried back in the summer, but now a notice from an authorized dealer confirms that the large sedan is officially dead, at least for American consumers.
“Please note that the 2023 model year marks the end of production of the Arteon for the US market,” reads the letter, which was posted on social media. “Volkswagen will continue to include the always popular Jetta and GLI in its sedan lineup, our flagship models that offer exceptional performance and style.”
Volkswagen spokesman Mark Gillies confirmed that the Arteon will be discontinued. Gillies pointed to statements by Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schafer about ending production of low-volume models such as the Arteon. The company is making these cuts to save money and make more money.
Introduced in 2017, the elegant sedan was welcomed by many due to its attractive design. However, he never managed to capture a large piece of the market. In the first half of 2023, VW sold just 1,155 Arteons in the U.S., compared to 16,224 Jettas and 38,785 Tiguans.
In fact, from January to June, the Arteon was the slowest-selling Volkswagen in America. However, only 170 Arteons were delivered in the first half of the previous year, meaning 2023 was a much better year for the model.
