Microsoft declassified the cost of cloud Windows
Microsoft introduced the Windows 365 cloud service yesterday, which allows you to access the OS interface, Windows applications and content from virtually any device. However, during the announcement, an important detail was missed – information on prices.
As part of today’s session at the ongoing Microsoft Inspire conference, the company began to lift the veil of secrecy regarding the cost of Windows 365. So far, however, not all options have been announced.
As it became known, as part of the Windows 365 Business tariff, access to a dual-processor virtual PC with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage will cost companies $ 31 per month for each user. In two years, that would translate into $ 744 per user. For that kind of money, you can buy a regular laptop for each employee.
However, Windows 365 provides capabilities that you simply won’t get if you just buy a new laptop with Windows 11. Windows 365 is noted to provide easier management and the ability to access your personal Windows configuration and content from multiple devices.
Recall that Microsoft will offer two versions of the service – Windows 365 Business and Windows 365 Enterprise. Both options offer virtual PCs in 12 configurations, ranging from a single processor with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage to an eight-processor with 32GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The official launch will take place on 2 August.

WhatsApp users will be banned from taking screenshots of files for one-time viewing
WhatsApp developers are working on a new feature that will prevent users from taking screenshots and capturing video from the screen when opening files for a one-time view. The innovation has already been implemented in the beta version of the messenger for Android.
So, in the future mobile version of WhatsApp, users will be notified before sending a file with a single view that the recipient will be able to open the photo or video only once and will not be able to resend it to anyone, save it, copy it or take a screenshot. There are no such notifications or warnings in the current version of WhatsApp. True, at the same time, nothing prevents the recipient from recording a video or photographing content on another smartphone.
Recall that recently the release of a full-fledged WhatsApp client for desktop PCs and laptops running Windows took place.

Xiaomi will stop developing MIUI for eight smartphones. Among them are Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi 10X and Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra

Xiaomi today announced that it will stop working on beta firmware versions for nine of its smartphones from October 31 this year: Xiaomi 10 Ultra, Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9 4G, Redmi 10X, Redmi 10X Pro , Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition and Redmi Note 9.
Naturally, this does not mean at all that all these models will immediately stop receiving software updates – fresh firmware for them will continue to be released for a long time, as beta versions are transferred to the release (final) status. However, we can already say that these models will not receive anything fresher than MIUI 13 (MIUI 14 will not be released until November).
Xiaomi also announced the recruitment of participants in the Android 13 beta testing group for the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition gaming smartphone – the test will be launched before the end of this month.

Today, Xiaomi released its financial report for the second quarter of 2022. Among other things, it provides interesting statistics on the proprietary MIUI shell.
According to Xiaomi, the total number of monthly active users in the second quarter successfully broke the record, reaching 547 million. The statistics take into account users from all over the world, not just in China.
If we take into account only China, then in July the number of monthly active users reached 140.2 million, also a new record high.
In total, there were 17.8 million new MIUI users worldwide and 4.6 million in China in the second quarter.
Recall that in November 2021, Xiaomi announced the overcoming of MIUI milestone of 500 million worldwide.
The official debut of MIUI took place in the summer of 2010, in August. The history of MIUI began with hundreds of beta testers. And five years later, in 2015, the number of users exceeded 100 million. Then growth began to accelerate. The company reported 200 million users in 2018 and 300 million in 2019. As of January 2021, the number of MIUI users worldwide has exceeded 400 million.
