Micron invests up to $100 billion in semiconductor manufacturing in New York State

Micron Technology intends to invest up to $100 billion over the next 20 years to build a manufacturing facility in New York State. It will produce semiconductors and become the largest in the world. It is expected that the launch of the new enterprise will create about 50,000 new jobs. As for investments, by the end of this decade they will amount to $20 billion.

It also plans to invest $15 billion in a semiconductor manufacturing plant, which will be located in Idaho. Against the background of this information, the value of Micron shares increased by 3.1%.

Such large investments are not accidental – this is due to the signing of the Law on Chips and Science. According to him, US companies can receive government subsidies, $52.7 billion has been allocated for the project, which will expand the production of microcircuits and stimulate the development of the semiconductor industry in the United States.

Earlier, Intel and the Canadian company Brookfield entered into an agreement under which they will invest up to $30 billion in a plant in Arizona.

At the same time, it became known earlier that the United States wants to impose new sanctions against China, specifically related to high technologies.
