Meta finally resumes service on March 28

The company Meta, which used to be called Facebook, has put in place several instructions as part of the reopening of offices. These guidelines have been updated several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the emergence of the second variant of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The target date had therefore changed from the end of January to March 28, 2022.

The program put in place by the CEO: Mark Zuckerberg

CNBC reports that the return to office date that was scheduled for the end of this month has moved to March 28. These abrupt schedule changes are unlikely to make it easy for company employees.

Note that in December 2020, the COVID-19 vaccine was not mandatory within the Meta company, clarified the CEO himself. All employees had the choice to be vaccinated or not. This decision came from the fact that the company hoped to continue remote activities until July 2021. Some offices were finally opened in May. In June, Mark Zuckerberg reconsiders his decision. He proclaims that either employees seek permission from a manager to work from home or they will expect him to come into the office for at least half the week.

The arrival of the delta variant of the vaccine changes everything

Vaccination requirements for employees in the Meta company have automatically changed. The business plans a full reopening in October. Zuckerberg, in August last year, extended his return to the company until January 2022. Since during this winter, Omicron was extending, so the company offered some workers the freedom to delay returning to work for three to five months through a deferral program. In addition, the requirements of this new date of March 28 require that employees receive a vaccine booster each time.

Several tech companies analogous to Meta, like Apple, Microsoft, Google and others have indefinitely postponed reopening their businesses in the face of so much ambiguity. META is available for integrated moderators at the headquarters in Mountain View. They were to make themselves available for office work on January 24, a week before full-time workers. There was no other alternative. After many expressions of internal disagreement from the workers, the contractor Accenture then reconsidered this initiative.

Fiat may resurrect the Fiat 600 and Multipla but only

According to Autopassioneitaliana, Fiat is thinking about reviving the Fiat 600 and Multipla models. At the same time, the Italians plan to reorganize the lineup and bring more crossovers to the market, as the demand for this type of vehicle is still growing.

In autumn 2023, Fiat wants to launch a 4m long, 1.52m high compact crossover on the CMP platform, which will have petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains. According to reports, the model will be called Fiat 600 (the electric version will be called 600e) and will be produced in Poland.

The second crossover will also be based on the CMP platform. Groupe PSA developed this platform in 2018 and the first model built on this platform was the DS3. This was followed by the Opel Mokka, Peugeot 2008 and the new Jeep Avenger.

Other sources mention that the Fiat Multipla may be produced in Slovakia, in Trnava, where Peugeot and Citroen models were produced until now. Multipla will appear in 2024.

Fiat is also reportedly planning to build a successor to the Punto. The Italians used to have a small class model called Argo available only in South America. Using the same CMP platform, the Italians want to develop a new model for the South American market and for Europe.

The new model will be called Panda in Europe and will retain the Argo name in South America.

Foxconn simultaneously asked employees to leave “iPhone city” for $1400 and stay for even more rewards

Foxconn simultaneously asked employees to leave iPhone city for 1400

Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., said over the weekend that it will increase to more than $1,800 per month in December and January for permanent employees, including those who joined the company in November.

Foxconn’s generosity comes from the company’s desire to restore assembly as quickly as possible after weeks of Covid restrictions, culminating in last week’s riots. The Zhengzhou campus, which has more than 200,000 employees, assembles the vast majority of iPhone Pro models.

As we reported, the company offered each protester about $1,400 to quit and leave the plant. A Reuters source familiar with the situation confirmed that more than 20,000 workers agreed to Foxconn’s offer.

Foxconn simultaneously asked employees to leave

Apple said it is working closely with Foxconn to restore production to its previous pace, and both companies have expressed their commitment to keeping workers safe.

Earlier this month, analysts at Morgan Stanley slashed their estimates for the current-quarter iPhone Pro release by 6 million units. In a worst-case scenario, if extended lockdowns affect assembly in Zhengzhou, Foxconn risks losing up to 36% of iPhone revenue, or 20% of total sales for the quarter.

Previously known insider Ben Geskin posted a video showing clashes between workers and security at the Foxconn plant.
