Mercedes-Benz beat Tesla on its own field. The company was the first in the United States to obtain a license for a third-level autopilot
While Tesla has been actively promoting its autopilot, which has nothing to do with full-fledged autopilot, for many years, Mercedes-Benz became the first automobile company in the United States to obtain a license for a level 3 autopilot.
Mercedes-Benz in their cars relies on driver assistance systems under the general name Drive Pilot. This is a collection of cameras, GPS data, lidars and other sensors that allow the car to move to some extent without the participation of the driver. Such a system is now available in the S-Class and EQS.
The autopilot of the third level, we recall, implies the ability for the driver to completely release the steering wheel and go about their business, but at the same time, a person must still be ready to take control at any time.
Technologically, many companies have already stated that they are ready to release the corresponding cars, but there is a problem with the legislation in most countries, since the necessary norms are often not yet spelled out there. In particular, the important question of who will be held responsible in the event of an accident remains open.

Babyark smart child car seat unveiled with military-grade technology and multiple sensors

Introduced a child car seat that was created by Frank Stephenson Design in collaboration with Babyark, an innovative baby safety technology company. Its design is inspired by the egg.
The child seat is constructed with a carbon fiber frame and military-grade energy-absorbing technology that sets it apart from virtually all other child seats on the market. It also includes the SafeCoil steel-based cushioning system that gently slows the seat forward during an accident. An advanced side impact protection system has also been implemented.
Another addition to the safety of the child seat is a set of 14 sensors in the base that constantly monitor a wide range of parameters, such as whether the seat is correctly installed, and can also tell the owner if the child is properly secured. Accelerometers and gyroscopes can also register the force of any collision and notify users when the seat can be reused.
After working in the automotive industry, I always wanted to go beyond the simple design of car shapes. Safety standards and design in the industry have changed significantly, and yet we easily neglect the technology needed to keep children safe. Babyark’s breakthrough business approach and its open design, inspired by the protective forms of nature around us, aims to embrace passengers and provide safety and luxury for users.
