Mercedes-Benz announced a small “Gelik”
Mercedes is planning to release a smaller version of its G-Class SUV, the German automaker’s CEO revealed in an interview with CNBC Sunday.
The G-Class or Gelendvagen, a rugged SUV that starts at around $140,000, is popular with buyers in the US. It has been in production for over four decades. Mercedes is updating the model with more technology and has even unveiled a concept electric version of the car.
Now Ola Kallenius, CEO of Mercedes, has confirmed that the “little G”, a smaller version of the G-Class, will be released for the foreseeable future.
“Such a daughter or son of the big G will also appear among Gelendvagen fans around the world in a few years,” Ola Kallenius said in an interview with CNBC.
The CEO stated that there is no “fixed date” for the model’s launch: “If you’re looking forward to something good, it’s worth the wait.”
A smaller version of the G-Class could make the model more accessible to a different group of buyers, and possibly a lower price.
Kallenius added that the limited supply of the G-Class is likely to continue.

Using the Honor V Purse “smartphone-clutch” as a clutch can be potentially very expensive. Prices for device repairs revealed

The “smartphone-clutch” Honor V Purse, despite its positioning as a fashion accessory and form factor, is priced at not the most $825 for the basic version. Considering the same form factor and positioning, it would be useful to know that screen repair will cost the owner almost 70% of the cost of the smartphone.
As it became known, Honor will charge about $558 for screen repair. This is the price in China at the current exchange rate. It will also be very expensive to replace the motherboard: $274 or $342 depending on the configuration. Of course, this includes the platform, RAM and flash memory, since all this is soldered on the board.
Everything else will not be very expensive to replace:
- Battery (main) – 159 yuan ($22)
- Battery (auxiliary) – 159 yuan ($22)
- Back cover – 239 yuan ($33)
- Front camera (main) – 139 yuan ($19)
- Rear camera (wide angle) – 149 yuan ($20)
- Rear camera (main) – 379 yuan ($52)
Considering that this is a “smartphone-clutch”, it will be much easier to damage the screen of such a device than a regular smartphone that is constantly carried in a pocket or bag. And the prices for repairs indicate that it is better to be careful.

Samsung will still give a gift to fans. Galaxy S23 FE will also be available in a version with the Qualcomm platform

The latest rumors have been confirmed: the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE fan smartphone will indeed exist in both a version with SoC Exynos 2200 and a version with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
This was confirmed thanks to the appearance of the device in the Google Play Console. Let us remember that almost all the time various sources spoke only about the version with Exynos 2200, but recently rumors have appeared about Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Moreover, it is 8 Gen 1, and not the Plus modification.
From the rest, the database talks about 8 GB of RAM, although the base version may well be a 6 GB version, and a screen with Full HD+ resolution, which is quite expected.
Let us remind you that the device is also credited with a 50-megapixel camera, like the Galaxy S23, and a 4500 mAh battery with 25-watt charging. By the way, let us remind you that according to recent data, even the budget Galaxy A05 will have the same charging.

These Samsung smartphones were created specifically for the US military. Galaxy S23 Tactical Edition and XCover6 Pro Tactical Edition presented

Samsung has fully presented the new generation of secure Tactical Edition smartphones. These are the Samsung Galaxy S23 Tactical Edition and XCover6 Pro Tactical Edition models.
They were first presented back in May, but then Samsung partially revealed the characteristics and did not even show the device. Third-party images showed a generally ordinary Galaxy S23 and XCover6 Pro. As you can see in the latest images, there is little that is usual in terms of design in the new products. However, the external “armor” is removable.
The outer protective shell of both devices is much more impressive than that of most “professional” rugged smartphones. And all because the Tactical Edition line is aimed primarily not at ordinary consumers, but at the military. To create such devices, Samsung cooperates with the US Department of Defense.
From the point of view of characteristics typical for smartphones, these models are completely identical to their civilian counterparts. All features revolve around protection.
The Galaxy S23 Tactical Edition and XCover6 Pro Tactical Edition come pre-configured with software and custom drivers to support tactical radio protocols and mission-specific devices, including access to drone data and laser rangefinder information. They can also be connected to secure tactical communications systems and use a stealth mode that disables LTE and e-911 by disabling all RF transmissions (including GPS) in hardware. This ensures that communications are secure and completely disconnected from the network.
In particular, the devices are pre-installed with the ATAK (Android Team Awareness Kit, which provides precise targeting, reconnaissance, navigation during military operations and data exchange) and BATDOK (Battlefield Assisted Trauma Distributed Observation Kit, which tracks in real time monitoring the vital signs of an injured soldier – it simplifies the work of a physician when providing emergency care).
The software defined radio interface has the ability to receive data from a third party SDR receiver such as Flight Aware or other third party frequency band specific radios. There’s also an auto-answer feature for hands-free calls and the ability to record and prevent outgoing calls, which Samsung says is useful in hostage negotiations.
The outer protective shell consists of an Armor Aluminum frame and a durable military-grade case. This is just a case, and the smartphone can be taken out of it. Actually, then all the features of the devices will be reduced to unique software.
