MediaTek introduced a new processor for smart TVs

Most of the smart TVs of different brands are based on the processors of the Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek. It is one of the leading TV chipset manufacturers alongside Amlogic. And today, October 8, he introduced a new processor model for Smart TV.

The new processor, dubbed MediaTek MT9602, consists of four Cortex-A53 cores, clocked at up to 1.5 GHz. Responsible for the graphics is the built-in GPU Mali-G52 MC1. The chipset, according to the manufacturer, supports up to 2 GB of RAM and screens with resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 pixels (4K) at a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Like any other modern processor, MediaTek MT9602 is compatible with popular standards and codecs such as HLG, HDR10, HDR10 +, Dolby Vision, AV1, AVS2, HEVC, VP9, ​​H.264, and SHVC 4K60. It also supports HDMI and USB 2.0 connections. There is support for Dolby Atmos and a number of MediaTek proprietary technologies using artificial intelligence, such as AI-PQ, AI-AQ and AI-Voice.

New MediaTek MT9602 TV chipset debuts in new Motorola smart TVs. They will be showcased this Friday, October 9th, at a special event in India alongside other home appliances from the brand, including an air conditioner, refrigerator and washing machine.
