MediaTek unexpectedly introduced the Dimensity 7200 single-chip system, which was not even rumored.

MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC Unveiled, Latest Mid-Range Smartphone Platform

This is the first platform in the Dimensity 7000 line, so now the impressive gap between the Dimensity 8000 and the younger Dimensity 900/1000 is somewhat filled.

The configuration of the new platform includes two Cortex-A715 cores with a frequency of 2.8 GHz and six Cortex-A510 cores with an unspecified frequency. Apparently, this is the first platform with such a set of cores. The GPU is Mali-G610 MC4. How productive such an SoC will be is still anyone’s guess, but in terms of name it should be located between Dimensity 1080/1300 and Dimensity 8200.

Despite the fact that the new solution is far from being a flagship, it supports Full HD + screens with a frequency of up to 144 Hz. It is also worth highlighting support for LPDDR5 memory, UFS 3.1, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, 200-megapixel cameras and video recording in 4K at 30 fps. The platform modem supports data rates up to 4.7 Gbps.

It is also worth noting that the new platform is produced according to the 4 nm process technology, that is, everything should be fine with energy efficiency. When the first smartphones based on the Dimensity 7200 will appear is still unknown.

March 28 is a holiday for all users of the Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra. On this day, One UI 6.1 is released for smartphones

This date was confirmed by the Chinese office of Samsung (Galaxy S23 users began receiving notifications about the release of One UI 6.1 on March 28), as well as by the moderator of the official Samsung forum.

Typically, a company starts with several countries (China is apparently one of them), and then gradually expands its geography and user coverage.

Let us remind you that it became known earlier that smartphones of the Galaxy S23 line will receive all the AI functions (Galaxy AI) available for smartphones of the Galaxy S24 series.

The Weibo user who shared the comparison testing results says that these only show the state that current prototypes are in. This is because Apple and other companies allow their chipsets to perform at their maximum potential. OEMs then work to achieve a balance between performance and energy efficiency. We will find out what the real performance will be closer to the release of new products.

The Apple A18 Pro chip is expected to be based on TSMC’s 3nm process. According to rumors, it will consist of two powerful processor cores and six low-power cores.
