Microsoft is working on a web version of the cloud gaming platform xCloud to run it on iOS and iPadOS devices, The Verge writes, citing sources familiar with the company’s plans.
Microsoft’s head of gaming, Phil Spencer, said at a recent internal event that the company is working on a browser version of xCloud to bring the service to Apple platforms.
Apple is blocking xCloud and Google Stadia streaming services from its App Store. According to its rules, such platforms must publish on the site each game from their catalog separately. Then Microsoft responded that these terms were not suitable for their users.
The web version of Microsoft xCloud is expected to release in early 2021. Similar information transfers Business Insider edition.
