Luxury car maker Rolls-Royce expects to go electric by 2030
Rolls-Royce will only produce electric vehicles by 2030. The luxury car maker announced it today, following other premium brands such as Volkswagen Bentley and Jaguar Land Rover to set a timetable for the transition to electric power.
The BMW-owned brand said in a statement that its first all-electric vehicle, called the Specter, will hit the market in the fourth quarter of 2023. Testing of this machine should begin soon.
“With this new product, we have marked our ability to fully electrify our entire product portfolio by 2030,” said Torsten Muller-Otvos, CEO of Rolls-Royce.
“By then Rolls-Royce will no longer be manufacturing or selling internal combustion engines,” he added.
BMW did not give a date to end production of fossil fuel vehicles, but instead set a goal to bring the share of electric vehicles to 50% of total production by 2030. Mini, a BMW subsidiary, expects to be fully electric by the end of the decade.
Jaguar, owned by Tata Motors, plans to fully switch to electric vehicles by 2025, and Bentley Motors, owned by Volkswagen AG, by 2030. The same term is called by Mercedes Benz, a division of Daimler, making a reservation that this will be done “if market conditions permit.”

Babyark smart child car seat unveiled with military-grade technology and multiple sensors

Introduced a child car seat that was created by Frank Stephenson Design in collaboration with Babyark, an innovative baby safety technology company. Its design is inspired by the egg.
The child seat is constructed with a carbon fiber frame and military-grade energy-absorbing technology that sets it apart from virtually all other child seats on the market. It also includes the SafeCoil steel-based cushioning system that gently slows the seat forward during an accident. An advanced side impact protection system has also been implemented.
Another addition to the safety of the child seat is a set of 14 sensors in the base that constantly monitor a wide range of parameters, such as whether the seat is correctly installed, and can also tell the owner if the child is properly secured. Accelerometers and gyroscopes can also register the force of any collision and notify users when the seat can be reused.
After working in the automotive industry, I always wanted to go beyond the simple design of car shapes. Safety standards and design in the industry have changed significantly, and yet we easily neglect the technology needed to keep children safe. Babyark’s breakthrough business approach and its open design, inspired by the protective forms of nature around us, aims to embrace passengers and provide safety and luxury for users.
