Geophysicists from the University of Zurich have found new evidence that the Moon was once part of the Earth. Their study is published in the journal Science Advances.

According to some hypotheses about the origin of the Moon, it was formed from matter that separated from the young Earth for one reason or another – for example, after a collision with a hypothetical object the size of Mars about 4.5 billion years ago.

To test this version, scientists used a mass spectrometer to study the chemical composition of six lunar meteorites extracted from the ice of Antarctica. These fragments fall to the Earth as a result of the collision of the Moon with other space bodies.

As a result of the analysis, scientists found that the isotopes of the noble gases of helium and neon contained in lunar meteorites coincide with the isotopes found in the solar wind (a stream of ionized particles). According to scientists, lunar rocks have never been exposed to it. This, together with the characteristic concentration of the argon isotope, supports the theory that these substances were inherited from the Earth.

According to the source, the Dutch regulator RDW on July 1 of this year issued a permit for the use of traction batteries in the Tesla Model Y electric car. Moreover, the first batch of such batteries has already been delivered to the Gigafactory Berlin for car assembly.

Tesla Model Y with BYD solid-state traction batteries is coded Type 005 and internal code Y7CR. The battery capacity is 55 kWh, the weight of the Model Y with such a battery is 2087 km, the cruising range is 440 km.

At the moment, Tesla traction batteries are supplied by LG Energy Solution, Panasonic and China’s CATL. Last year, Tesla became the largest buyer of CATL batteries, shipping $1.9 billion worth of products to the American company. Now, the second Chinese company has entered the Tesla traction battery supplier pool. Moreover, in the domestic Chinese market, Tesla and BYD are direct competitors, since both produce electric vehicles.

A list of possible characteristics of the Huawei Mate 50 has been published on the Web. And at least one item in it looks interesting – it concerns the screen: the smartphone is credited with an OLED panel with a resolution of 1.5K.

Recall that the recently presented Redmi K50 Extreme Edition just received a 1.5K screen – its resolution is 2712 x 1220 pixels. Xiaomi emphasizes that such a matrix is ​​visually very close to models with a resolution of 2K, but at the same time it consumes less energy. And just a very similar OLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1225 pixels can get Huawei Mate 50 – the base model of the new Huawei flagship series. It is reported that the screen will be supplied by BOE, its frame rate will be 120 Hz. Perhaps 1.5K screens will soon begin to massively replace Full HD + panels.

Huawei Mate 50 is also credited with a triple camera with a main sensor with a resolution of 50 MP, SoC Snapdragon 888 4G, 8 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of flash memory. The role of the OS, of course, will be HarmonyOS 3.0. The official premiere of Huawei Mate 50 smartphones is expected in September.
