Linux gamers can now take advantage of the “free” performance boost, too. Nvidia DLSS added to Proton

Linux gaming is becoming more and more complete. Nvidia has finally added its DLSS supersampling technology to Proton 6.3-8. For the first time, we learned about such intentions of the company back in the summer.

As a reminder, Proton is an open source tool designed for use by the Steam client. Proton allows Windows games to run within Linux.

Thus, Linux gamers will now be able to enable DLSS in supported games and get impressive performance gains.

Proton also received support for 24 new games:

PC version of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves. Collection ”is about to be released. The collection page has already appeared on Steam

In the service of digital distribution of computer games Steam, a page of the collection “Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves. Collection ”, which should be released on PC in the near future.

The exact release date has not been announced, except for 2022, but those who wish can already add the collection “Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves. Collection ”to your wishlist and be notified when it becomes available.

The collection includes the original adventure game Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End previously released on PlayStation 4 and the story expansion pack Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which are currently being remastered for more powerful platforms.

The PC port is being developed by Iron Galaxy. This isn’t the first PlayStation exclusive to hit PC: it was previously released after Horizon: Zero Dawn and Days Gone. And in early January, God of War will be released on PC.

PlayStation Spartacus will offer access to games for PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and PS5, as well as PSP

As it became known, Sony is preparing a new PlayStation Spartacus service, which will feature games from the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and possibly PlayStation Portable consoles. Scheduled to launch next fall, it will be a response to Microsoft’s Xbox Gamepass service.

The source of Bloomberg was a Sony employee who asked to remain anonymous. He has access to documents with such information. PlayStation Spartacus will be integrated with other services of the company: PS Plus and PS Now. The new service will be available on both PS4 and PS5.

The PlayStation Spartacus will be split into three categories, in one of which users will be able to stream classic games from PS1, PS2, PS3 as well as PSP. Another category will have an extensive catalog of options for the PS4, and a third for the PS5. At the same time, the service will not include games from the PS Vita, which Sony itself considers a failure.

It remains to wait and see when the service will be launched and how widespread it will be. PS Now, for example, is not available in all countries of the world.

Windows 11 displaced Windows 7 from gaming PCs for Steam users

According to recent statistics from Steam, Windows 11 is gaining momentum on the computers of service users. If in October its share was 1.9%, then in November it increased to 8.3%. More than quadrupled in a month!

As a result, Windows 11 has become the second most popular OS among Steam users, displacing 64-bit version of Windows 11 in third place. 64-bit Windows 10 is still in the first place, but it is also losing market share.
