LG smartphones move to Velvet UI

The smartphone maker is ditching the LG UX in favor of the Velvet UI
LG Electronics unveiled the new Velvet UI alongside the LG Velvet smartphone, which was released earlier this year. Now LG Electronics has announced that the Velvet interface will be available on budget models as well.
At the moment, it is known that the LG Q51 and Q61 will receive a new user interface. In addition to the Q-series, the company previously announced that it will make the Velvet interface available on the V50 ThinQ, V50S ThinQ, V40 ThinQ, V35 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ and G7 ThinQ.
The LG Velvet user interface doesn’t really differ much from the LG UX. The new skin includes several new interface tweaks, such as customizing the color of the notification bar, volume control settings and a new pop-up window during a call Sources also report that the smartphone maker is ditching the LG UX in favor of the Velvet UI.
The move to Velvet’s user interface could indicate a change in strategy that concerns not only smartphone design but also software.
