Along with the Legion Slim 7i slim gaming laptop, Lenovo has introduced two flagship models in the YOGA line: Lenovo YOGA 9i and YOGA Slim 9i. Apparently, Lenovo has decided to completely change the names of the current laptop lines: YOGA 9i replaced last year’s flagship YOGA C940.
What’s new and exciting about Lenovo Yoga 9i and Yoga Slim 9i?
Legion The Yoga 9i is available in 14-inch and 15-inch 360 ° swivel designs. Yoga Slim 9i – 14-inch model, 180 ° maximum opening angle. The laptop cases are metal, and the cover of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i is covered with genuine leather. For the Yoga 9i, a leather cover is optional. According to Lenovo, leather is specifically treated and applied to make it durable while maintaining its natural look and feel. The Slim model is one of the lightest in the company’s assortment: 1.26 kg. 14-inch Yoga 9i – slightly heavier: 1.37 kg.
The laptops are equipped with an edge-to-edge glass palm rest with an oleophobic coating, so that it does not collect fingerprints and dirt so much. At the same time, the touchpad was placed directly under the glass. This allegedly allowed him to make more than average decisions. At the same time, the touchpad lacks hardware buttons. Instead, a tactile feedback system is used that simulates real pressing. For the paranoid, on the right side of the laptops there is a two-position switch, with which you can turn off the webcam.
The Yoga 9i laptops have a soundbar built into the hinge, which the company began using last year. It has been refined and claimed to sound even better. In laptops, a stylus is provided, which is hidden in the case and charged there. Of course, pressure is recognized and that’s it. And of the new chips, Lenovo mentions an elastomer tip, which makes the feeling of use more like a pen or pencil with paper. Another feature of the new models is the Smart Sense Keyboard with automatic backlight brightness control.
What are the characteristics?
Laptops use IPS displays, which occupy about 90.5% of the surface area of the lid. Up to 4K certified options depending on configurations DisplayHDR 400, 500 cd / m² peak brightness and 90% color gamut DCI-P3. The 14-inch versions of the Yoga 9i and Yoga Slim 9i will receive new Intel Tiger Lake processors with integrated graphics based on Intel Xe architecture and will be equipped with a new Thunderbolt 4. The 15-inch Yoga 9i models are larger, so more powerful hardware could be installed inside. Inside can be a 10th generation Intel Core processor up to the top-end Core i9 HK. The system can include up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 2TB of storage, and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti graphics card in Max-Q design. These laptops are equipped with two third generation Thunderbolts. The 15-inch Yoga 9i can run on a single charge for up to 13 hours.

Lenovo Yoga 9i should go on sale in October. The metal 14-inch model starts at $ 1400, the leather one starts at $ 1700. 15-inch version – from $ 1800. The Yoga Slim 9i will go on sale in November starting at $ 1,600.
