Leica has officially unveiled the Cine 1, its first ultra-short throw projector, also known as a laser TV. As announced by the company, the new product is developed in cooperation with the Chinese TV manufacturer Hisense.

Specifically, Leica says the new Cine 1 projector uses Summicron lens technology with aspherical elements manufactured to its standards. It also features a Hisense-designed triple RGB laser with a claimed lifespan of 25,000 hours, as well as a digital light processing (DLP) chip from Texas Instruments.

Leica’s new ultra short throw projector will be offered in two 80-inch or 100-inch screen sizes, both in 4K resolution. The brightness of the models is 2100 and 2500 lumens, respectively. For optimal image quality, the company recommends placing the 80″ version 15cm from the wall you want to project images on, while the 100″ version should be placed 30cm away.

Goodbye 100 MP Redmi K60 smartphones will receive a 50

An insider, known on the Web under the nickname Digital Chat Station, published details about the camera of Redmi K60 smartphones. According to the leaker, the devices in the series will “upgrade” to a 50-megapixel sensor. It sounds like a downgrade in words, but in fact, the 50-megapixel sensor should provide higher quality photos and videos compared to the current 100-megapixel sensors.

The 100-megapixel sensor used in Redmi K50 Pro will be a thing of the past

What kind of sensor in question is not reported. Possible options are Sony IMX766 or Sony IMX707. The first is used in Xiaomi 12 (and in many other flagships of the current year), the second is used in Xiaomi 12 Pro. At the same time, this may be the only innovation of the Redmi K60 camera: the rest of the low-resolution sensors (8 and 2 megapixels) will remain, and there will most likely be no telephoto lens.

Digital Chat Station was previously the first to accurately announce the specifications and release dates of Redmi K30, K40, Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 11.

Chinese scientists have created a biomedical robot from liquid metal

Scientists from Soochow University have created a microscopic robot that can break up into drops and then reassemble. The work was published in the journal Science Advances.

The human body is full of winding narrow passages that are too tight for normal robots. The microrobot created by scientists is potentially useful for delivering drugs – in difficult places it can break up into smaller components, and then assemble back. At the same time, there is no need to reduce the payload that it can carry.

The robot consists of a ferrofluid – a suspension of iron oxide and hydrocarbon oil. You can control it with the help of spherical magnets, passing it through the narrow passages in the body. To demonstrate the potential utility of the robot, the researchers built a maze with large and narrow sections and then successfully navigated it to the end of the maze.

The main obstacle to the use of the invention for biomedical purposes may be the inaccessibility for clinics of magnetic control systems, which must be powerful enough to penetrate human tissue.
