Leica camera, 240Hz screen, world’s first inch image sensor and IP68. Sharp Aquos R6 appeared in Chinese stores

In May this year, Sharp and Leica announced a collaboration that led to the Sharp Aquos R6 smartphone. It became the world’s first smartphone with a 1-inch optical format image sensor.

Now this smartphone has already appeared in Chinese stores, while the price of the Sharp Aquos R6 is almost $ 1,500.

The main image sensor has a resolution of only 20.2 megapixels, it is equipped with a Summicron lens with an aperture of f / 1.9. At the same time, only a ToF sensor is additionally installed in the camera to determine the depth of the scene.

The Sharp Aquos R6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and features a 6.6-inch IGZO curved OLED display with WUXGA + resolution (2730 x 1260 pixels). The adaptive frequency is declared up to 240 Hz. However, Sharp has been “multiplying” the refresh rate of its screens for a long time, so the real frequency in this case is 120 Hz. On the official website of Sharp there has long been a clarification of how these same 240 Hz are implemented in the smartphone. The smartphone refreshes the image with a frequency of 120 Hz, but programmatically, when adding intermediate frames, the frequency increases to 240 Hz.

The smartphone supports dual fingerprint recognition thanks to the Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max scanner, and it is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery.
