The development team of the well-known VLC media player for almost twenty years has released an updated version of VLC for Android.

VLC 3.3 for Android is already available as a free download on the Google Play online app store. The update brings noticeable changes.

VLC 3.3 has a new user interface more in line with Google’s Material design concept, a bottom navigation bar for easier access to controls, an all-black dark theme, and an updated app icon.

The audio player has been updated to show progress in the play queue, and the video player has been significantly redesigned with a more modern look. In addition, there are many more minor improvements and tweaks, including redesigned subtitles, track syncing, and more.

In addition, there was an opportunity (purely voluntary) to become a “sponsor” of VLC with monthly contributions to developers who courageously lead an open source project, still free for everyone.
