Kill the coronavirus in 30 seconds. A unique gadget created in Japan

The Japanese edition of Mainichi reports that local scientists have created a device that can destroy 99.99% of the COVID-19 virus in just 30 seconds.

The portable device they created emits ultraviolet waves with a wavelength of 280 nanometers and an optical power of 70 milliwatts. The source reports that the virus can be completely destroyed by exposure to ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 260 nanometers, while the device will last only 2000 hours. If the wavelength is 280 nanometers, then the service life can be increased by about 10 times.

99.99% of the virus on surfaces is completely destroyed in 30 seconds at a distance of 5 centimeters, according to research carried out by Japan’s Tokushima University.

The creators of the device claim that this gadget can also be used in ventilation and air conditioning systems for air disinfection.
