Kia Stinger recalled due to faulty fuel pump
The problem affecting the 2018-2021 Kia Stinger has forced the manufacturer to recall thousands of vehicles due to safety concerns. This problem, caused by a manufacturing defect, is related to the fuel pump and can cause the vehicle to lose power, increasing the risk of an accident.
Kia is not yet aware of any injuries, collisions or deaths as a result of this issue. However, the company is recalling 18,224 Stingers with the 2.0-liter Theta II engine manufactured between September 29, 2017 and January 20, 2021.
The automaker became aware of this problem in May 2023 after reviewing field data. The company noticed a large number of requests for replacement of a vehicle’s high-pressure fuel pump. As a result, Kia’s North American Safety Office has launched an investigation into the matter.
After examining the pumps that needed to be replaced, engineers confirmed that they were losing power at high speeds. The problem ultimately arises from a misaligned fuel valve plunger in the high pressure fuel pump. This can cause uneven wear, and over time it can remain open, causing the air/fuel mixture to be too rich, preventing the engine from running properly.
Kia is currently aware of 80 vehicles affected by the problem and expects it to affect only one percent of the more than 18,000 Stingers included in the recall. On November 10, the company plans to contact all group owners and check their cars. If necessary, the high pressure fuel pump will be replaced with a new one.

This will be the Xiaomi 14 Pro. The first images of the smartphone have been published
For the first time, images of Xiaomi 14 Pro have been published on the Internet – the device is posed “wrapped” in cases, from which it becomes clear that the pictures were leaked by the accessory manufacturer.
Xiaomi 14 Pro demonstrates the evolution of the design of the current Xiaomi 13 Pro: the camera protrusion is almost the same, there are also three modules (the fourth is depicted as a camera module, but it will house a flash.
Xiaomi 14 Pro will receive SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a titanium frame. It is also credited with an AMOLED screen with a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels, a 5000 mAh battery with 120 W charging.
There is scattered data about the camera: some sources say that the device will have a 200-megapixel sensor as the main one, others attribute to it the same inch Sony IMX989 sensor as the Xiaomi 13 Pro. At the same time, everyone agrees that the remaining two sensors will be 50-megapixel.
