Kia showed off the big 7-seater 400-horsepower EV9 crossover in a video. It has weird headlights.
Kia is in full swing preparing for the premiere of its top electric crossover EV9. Recently, the car was filmed live during an advertising shoot, and now the company itself has published a couple of video teasers. One demonstrates tricky front lighting, the other shows the silhouette of a car.
Chinese automakers have long been integrating LEDs not only directly into the headlights, but also into the bumper (just remember Geely’s Zeekr 009), and Kia implements something similar in its EV9. Only here the bumper is not strewn with LEDs, but they are located along the edges of the grille. The lights on the trunk lid have complex graphics, which is very different from the rather simple Telluride lights.
Again, unlike the Telluride, the EV9’s silhouette is more dynamic, as can be seen from the rear styling and the way the roof slopes gently towards the triangular pillars.
The EV9 will debut first in the US, and judging by the fact that the company is already showing the final design in the teasers, it will happen soon (during the spring). In the basic version, a single electric motor with a capacity of about 200 hp is expected, in the top version there will be a power plant of two motors (respectively, the drive is full) with a power of about 400 hp. Since the crossover is large, it will allow you to carry 6 or 7 people.

Hackers hacked Tesla twice, for which they received 350 thousand dollars and Tesla Model 3

As part of Pwn2Own’s Vancouver-based commercial vulnerability finding event, a French team called Synacktiv managed to hack into Tesla systems twice.
On the first day, Synacktiv successfully performed a TOCTOU (Time-of-check to time-of-use) attack on the Tesla Gateway, and the group was rewarded with a $100,000 cash reward and a Tesla Model 3 car. And the next day hackers broke into the Tesla infotainment system, and received another 250 thousand dollars for this.
The Tesla cybersecurity team is already analyzing the actions of hackers in order to eliminate the vulnerabilities found with a firmware update.

The car brainchild of Changan, Huawei and CATL has a new version available. Presented 313-horsepower crossover Avatr 11 with acceleration to 100 km / h in 6.6 seconds

The Avatr 11 crossover, introduced last year as a collaboration between Changan, Huawei and CATL, has a new, less powerful and more affordable version. Instead of 578 hp and all-wheel drive she has – 313 hp. and rear wheel drive. Modifying the crossover was quite simple: the front electric motor with a capacity of 265 hp was simply removed from the power plant.
At the same time, the cost has decreased: the monodrive Avatr 11 is offered in two versions with a price of 46,600 and 51,000 dollars. The difference in the capacity of the traction battery and, accordingly, the power reserve: 90 kWh and 600 km and 116 kWh and 705 km, respectively.
With dimensions of 4880 x 1970 x 1601 mm and a wheelbase length of 2975 mm, Avatr 11 is a mid-size crossover, but can be either 5- or 4-seater.
The car is luxury, so it is very well equipped: there are 21-inch wheels, three screens in the cabin (the central one with a diagonal of 15.6 inches, as well as the driver and passenger screens with a diagonal of 10.25 inches), a 14-component speaker system with 12-channel amplifier. There are also driver assistance systems that rely on 34 different sensors in their work. True, for all this, in the budget version, for some reason, there is no electric tailgate drive.

Geely showed the interior of the Atlas Cool youth crossover: a face recognition system, backlight even in the speakers and an unusual gear knob

First, Geely published images of the new Atlas Cool crossover, and now the interior is shown in the pictures. From these images, it becomes clear that the car is aimed at a youth audience.
On the one hand, the interior of the Atlas Cool is similar to the interior of the regular Atlas L, on the other hand, there are a number of interesting points. For example, the gear shift knob has a very unusual shape.
Behind the wheel, a facial recognition camera is installed in front of the dashboard. Apparently, after scanning the driver’s face, the car’s system will automatically set predefined settings: for example, the seating position and climate control settings.
And of course, a lot of attention was paid to the backlight: it is here both in front and behind. And behind it is integrated directly into the speakers!
This model will not have a projection display, but it does have a built-in wireless charger for the phone (it is located in a niche under a vertically mounted 13.2-inch screen).
Recall that the “cool” Atlas will be more compact than the usual Atlas L: with dimensions of 4510 x 1865 x 1650 mm, it will be 160 mm shorter, 35 mm narrower and 55 mm lower. The wheelbase will be reduced by 76 mm – up to 2701 mm.
The technology of the “cool” Atlas will not be as cool as that of the Atlas L: the crossover will receive a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 181 hp, which will be paired with a 7-speed “robot” with two clutches. The usual Atlas L has a more powerful engine – a 2.0-liter turbocharged 218 hp.
