Japanese companies limit the use of ChatGPT for commercial purposes

A number of large Japanese companies have restricted the commercial use of ChatGPT and similar chatbots. The list includes Softbank, Fujitsu, Mizuho Financial Group, MUFG Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking and others. This is explained by the security of business processes, as well as concern for employees.

According to company executives, the use of bots can increase the proportion of false information, which will affect customers and employees. Also, companies are afraid of leaks of confidential data, since the same ChatGPT is available to corporate clients in the Microsoft Azure OpenAI cloud system.

Finally, there are legal and ethical concerns when using chatbots in the workplace. After all, many employees believe that AI can potentially replace them, which negatively affects their performance.

Note that earlier Bank of America, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs Group, Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase banned their employees from using the ChatGPT chat bot for work tasks, even for the simplest ones.
