The Hollywood Reporter reports that Jamie Foxx may play the antagonist Electro again in the third Spider-Man movie. According to sources, negotiations with Marvel are in the final stages.
Recall that in the 2014 film The Amazing Spider-Man: High Voltage, starring Andrew Garfield, Fox played the character of Max Dillon, who, in an accident, gains the ability to control electricity.
There are no details about the hero in the new universe yet, the Marvel studio declined to comment. It is not clear whether this character will be the same, or whether it will be somehow rethought and even its appearance will be changed.
If the information is confirmed, this will be the second time in the history of the Spider-Man universe, when the same actor plays in different films. Earlier in the post-credits scene for Spider-Man: Far From Home, J.K.Simmons appeared as Jonah Jameson. He played the same role in the film trilogy with Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man.
Filming for the third installment of Spider-Man, starring Tom Holland, is due to start this fall. The premiere of the picture is scheduled for November 2021.
