It’s easier for Apple to place Face ID under the display than to hide the front camera itself.

Chinese sources say Apple’s next big challenge in making an iPhone will be eliminating the large notch at the top of the screen, but that depends on whether the supply chain can get it going.

In addition, Apple is still accelerating the research and development of the under-screen Face ID camera system. Under the current plan, the iPhone 13 will definitely not get a sub-screen Face ID system without bangs, but it may appear in the iPhone 14.

The source adds that it’s easier for Apple to place the Face ID system under the display than to hide the front-facing camera itself. For this reason, the front camera may be embedded. Yesterday, reputable netizen and Front Page Tech editor Jon Prosser, who has proven himself well in past Apple-related leaks, posted the first renders of the iPhone 14 smartphone, which shows the smartphone described above.

It is speculated that in the future, more expensive iPhone models will receive a Face ID system located under the screen, while inexpensive ones will retain their bangs.

The presentation of the iPhone 13 is expected on September 14th.
