Appe Watch owner Ann Bracey revealed that she was fiddling with a hummingbird feeder and felt her wrist start to burn hard. She thought that a bee got under the strap and stung her.
It was painful. It really hurts. And I thought there was a bee under the strap. The next morning, I screamed in fear because I saw a huge three-inch burn.
Anne Bracey added that the hand continued to hurt and bake, and the allergic reaction was getting worse. She also asked Apple to confirm that her watch is safe or to make it so.
There are eighteen complaints in the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s database similar to the Bracey complaint. People claim that their Apple Watch causes “skin burns and flaking”, “round red spot”, “severe redness of the skin”, “itchy dry rash”, “skin irritation”, “burning”, “blisters” and so on. …
The source also found reports of this problem on various resources, in particular on the Apple forum. People write that after wearing a watch, red marks remain on the hand, similar to burns.
Apple’s website does not say anything about possible burns, but mentions “potential skin sensitivity” and that “a small number of people may have a reaction to certain materials.”
Apple also provides basic guidelines to avoid allergic reactions:
- Keep your skin clean and dry
- Be careful with non-Apple straps
- Make sure the strap is not too tight or too loose
What Apple did not tell about the Watch Series 7. More details about the new product appeared
Detailed characteristics of Apple Watch Series 7 smart watches have appeared on the Web. Apple itself, as usual, does not indicate all parameters for its devices.
The information was taken from some internal company documents. So now we know, for example, that the smaller version of the watch, depending on the case material, weighs 32 g (aluminum), 37 g (titanium) or 42.3 g (stainless steel). For larger, the corresponding values are 38.8, 45.1 or 51.5 g.
The watch screen is still covered by the Ion-X glass, and the maximum brightness is still 1000 cd / m2. At the same time, the screen brightness in Always-On Display mode, when the user’s wrist is lowered, reaches 500 cd / m2, which is 70% more than that of the previous generation of watches.
There is also confirmation that the watch is still based on the new S7 platform, which is 20% faster than the S5 in the Watch SE. But there is no comparison with the S6.
You can also note a 50% louder speaker than in the Watch SE, the same 18-hour battery life and 32 GB of flash memory, as in previous models.
“Flat” Apple Watch will still be released, but next year
A number of rumors earlier this year attributed to the Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatches a design similar to the new iPhone and iPad, that is, with flat edges. As we know, the Series 7, although they have changed relative to last year’s model, but not much, and did not receive the stipulated design. However, this could ultimately be the next generation watch.
Several sources after the announcement of the Series 7 stated that the new design will eventually go to the Series 8 model next year. That is, all the leaks and rumors were true, just their authors did not guess with the generation. You can also recall that recently there was information about the postponement of the start of sales of Series 7 due to production problems. It is possible that the design with flat edges was originally approved for the model of the current year, but after that, due to difficulties, Apple decided to postpone its implementation until next year.
Another mess with Apple’s connectors. Watch SE got USB-C charging, but other older models stayed with USB-A
The Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatch, unlike its predecessors, comes with a magnetic charger with a USB-C connector. As it turns out, Apple opted to bundle the same one with its affordable Watch SE.
At the same time, both Series 6 and Series 3, which remained in service after the release of the new model, are still equipped with a magnetic charger with a USB-A connector. Perhaps they will also face a similar replacement, but then it is not very clear why Apple did not carry out it at the same time for all current watches.
In general, at the moment, Apple has some kind of confusion over the issue of connectors. For example, the company switched almost all iPads to USB-C, but for some reason left the new base model with Lightning.
