It looks like a brand new BlackBerry with a keyboard. High-quality images and videos appeared
OnwardMobility is set to launch its first 5G BlackBerry smartphone with a physical keyboard. The first images of the device were published on the Letsgodigital website.
Last year, Chinese licensee TCL announced that it would no longer sell BlackBerry phones. The 4-year license agreement has expired. Obviously, this has raised a lot of questions about the future of the Blackberry brand. It soon became clear that the licensing rights had passed to the American company OnwardMobility.
OnwardMobility issued a press release stating, “In the first half of 2021, we will launch a BlackBerry Android smartphone with a physical keyboard and 5G support in North America and Europe.” For the development and production of BlackBerry smartphones, the company has entered into an exclusive partnership with the Android smartphone manufacturer FIH Mobile Limited, a subsidiary of Foxconn.
Last month, the Nikkei Asia business newspaper published an extensive interview with Peter Franklin, CEO of OnwardMobility (and a former Microsoft employee). The publication revealed that the new BlackBerry smartphone will not only have 5G support and a physical keyboard, OnwardMobility also intends to add a top-notch camera to the smartphone. This is remarkable because the camera has never been an essential element for BlackBerry business smartphones.
The BlackBerry Key 3 smartphone, shown in the renders, is equipped with a triple camera, like the flagship models of other manufacturers. Unfortunately, there are very few details on the technical characteristics of this new device. The physical keyboard will definitely be appreciated by dedicated BlackBerry users. It will also be the brand’s first 5G phone.
The new BlackBerry phone should be officially announced for the US and European markets within three months.

Chinese rover goes dormant on Mars

China’s Zhurong rover went into hibernation during a harsh winter on Mars due to cold, sand and dust storms.
The rover is solar-powered and has gone into sleep mode since May 18. Temperatures on the Red Planet, meanwhile, are around -20°C during the day and -100°C at night, according to the China Lunar Exploration Program.
China’s Tianwen-1 orbiter, which brought Zhurong to Mars last May, has also observed sand and dust storm activity over the rocker’s landing pad in Utopia Plain.
The design of the rover has several features to help withstand winter temperatures, sand and dust storms. These measures include the ability to tilt the solar panels to maximize the collection of sunlight and a special dust-proof coating on the panels.
The Chinese rover is not alone in its plight: Nasa’s InSight lander, which arrived on the Red Planet in November 2018, is also struggling to produce enough solar power to keep going. At the same time, the Nasa Curiosity and Perseverance rovers can continue their journey on the surface of Mars regardless of the time of year, since they use radioisotope thermoelectric generators.
The rover is expected to resume operations again in December, with the arrival of spring in the northern hemisphere and the end of dust storms.

VTB online bank launched bill payment using QR codes

The VTB Bank team announced the launch of a new feature in the web version of VTB Online. According to the press service, VTB was the first on the market to introduce the possibility of paying for services using QR codes in an online bank.
Thus, now users will be able to pay for services using a QR code without using the bank’s mobile application. The functionality is available on iOS smartphones through the Safari browser (starting from version 11), and Android smartphones through the Chrome browser (from version 57 and newer). Later, the service will start working on tablets, laptops and desktop PCs.
To pay using a QR code, the user needs to go to VTB Online through a mobile browser and select the appropriate icon in the interface, after which the device’s camera is activated to read the code. The system itself recognizes all the necessary information for payment and automatically fills in the payment order, which the client will need to check and confirm the transfer of funds to the recipient.

Sony will not let you enjoy the old games to the fullest. PS3 projects within PS Plus will be released without add-ons

As part of the updated subscription service Sony PS Plus will be available, including projects for PS3. But due to the very specific architecture of the processor of this console, the games will be available in the cloud service.
And now it became known that such games, unfortunately, will not support add-ons. DLC may someday be added, but at first you definitely shouldn’t expect them.
For example, Asura’s Wrath, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Crash Commando, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and a number of other games received various kinds of add-ons at one time, for some projects there were a lot of such DLCs. But within the framework of PS Plus, it will not be possible to try them out. The source also publishes a list of PS3 games, but we published them a week ago, when Sony itself did this.
As a reminder, today we also learned that some classic games will work even worse on the new consoles than on the original PlayStation.
