The final version of iOS 16 will be released very soon, but for now, shell testing continues. Apple released iOS 16 beta 8 yesterday, focusing on bug fixes, performance improvements, and final optimizations for things like battery life and new features.

iOS 16 beta 8 is now available for download for registered developers through the Settings app. Open the Settings app, select General, then select Software Update. iOS 16 beta 7 was released a week ago and included only minor changes and tweaks. Apple is currently focused on fixing the latest bugs and performance issues. Internally, part of the team has already switched to iOS 16.1, which will likely be released this fall.

Apple will hold a special event next week on September 7th, which is expected to showcase the iPhone 14, Apple Watch Pro, Apple Watch Series 8 and more. Apple is also expected to announce the release date for iOS 16 during this event. Presumably, the firmware will be released in mid-September.

Meanwhile, the release of iPadOS 16 has been delayed until October. Apple confirmed the delay in an official statement last week.

Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 smartphones received Android 13, but not official – as part of the LineageOS project and LineageOS 20 firmware.

10-year-old Samsung Galaxy Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 received Android 13. True, unofficial

We are talking about an early assembly of LineageOS 20, in which a number of functions do not work: NFC, Bluetooth sound transmission during a call, memory card. Known issues are expected to be fixed as the firmware is updated.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 are ten years old, and you should not expect older devices running the latest Android 13 to run smoothly. Both smartphones had flagship specs for their time, but the 1GB and 2GB of RAM in the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 might not be enough for a full system at the moment.

Recall that the basic versions of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 were running Android 4.0.4 and 4.1.1, respectively. Android 4.3 and 4.4.4, respectively, were released as the final software versions for these smartphones.

The Radeon RX 6800 XT can be made as fast

The GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards are already presented and will soon begin to hit the market, and the Radeon RX 7000 will also be released towards the end of the year. But is it worth buying new ones if you can get by with the RX 6000 line, significantly speeding it up?

Renowned developer and enthusiast Yuri Bubliy (1usmus) created the Radeon Monster Profile (RMP) application, which allows you to significantly increase the performance of current generation AMD adapters. From the name it is clear that in fact we are talking about overclocking profiles, but not everything is so simple. The author describes his brainchild as a combination of unique settings and voltage parameters. Thanks to RMP, the performance of RX 6000 cards can be significantly improved.

As you can see, for example, Yuri took the RX 6800 XT, the core frequency of which, thanks to the settings, increased by 300 MHz, which provides an increase of 11-13% and allows this card to bypass the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti at least in 3DMark, which even now is almost twice as expensive. At the same time, the profiles are designed in such a way that the operating voltage is reduced by 6%, which allows you not to worry about excessive heating.

The application is expected later this year.
