Recently, Motorola introduced a flexible smartphone – Razr 5G. For its stable operation, the company has specially developed a hinge with zero clearance – it allows the screen to close so tightly that it is even impossible to pass a sheet of paper through it. However, how long will a smartphone made in such a form factor last? According to the company, more than 5 years.
For increased strength, the hinge of the device is made of stainless steel, and the body itself is made of 7000 series aluminum. Motorola mechanized tests confirm that the hinge can withstand 200,000 cycles of extension and flexion. The manufacturer claims that the smartphone will last more than 5 years if you open and close it 100 times a day.

In addition, Motorola said it has filed more than 100 patents, which also apply to software that allows it to quickly interact with applications on an external 2.7-inch display and switch to an internal 6.2-inch screen.
