Is the new MacBook Air on the Apple M1 suitable for mining? The enthusiast managed to launch the Ethereum mining process

Apple MacBooks aren’t particularly suited for gaming, but what about mining? Some MacBooks use discrete graphics cards that could be used to mine cryptocurrencies, but newer Apple M1-based PCs have the graphics core as part of a single-chip system.
It turns out that such a GPU can also be used for mining. The owner of the MacBook Air was able to get Ethereum mining going with minor ethminer changes and a number of other tweaks.
As a result, we managed to achieve a hash rate of 2 MH / s, which at the current exchange rate corresponds to approximately $ 0.18 per day. The result, of course, is completely meaningless from a practical point of view, but we can also compare it with other video cards. For example, even the GeForce GTX 1050 produces about 9 MH / s.
