Tesla quite unexpectedly decided to stop putting the charging cable in the kit with their cars. This caused a strong reaction from buyers, after which Tesla reduced the price of the cable from $275 to $200.
But why did Tesla even decide to take such a strange step for the automotive market? The bottom line is that Tesla car owners very rarely use the bundled cable. Or rather, Elon Musk said so. But is it really so?
According to the Teslascope service, which has access to information about thousands of Tesla vehicles worldwide, the complete Tesla Mobile Connector accounts for… 61% of all connections. That is, more than half, which is very much at odds with Musk’s statement.
Of course, Tesla itself has a lot more data on its cars than a third-party service. However, the difference between Teslascope statistics and Musk’s statement is still too big. It is possible that the head of Tesla will comment on the situation in the near future, although the company’s move is probably simply due to a desire to cut costs.

Honda showed its first electric crossover Prologue. But it will only be released in 2024.
Honda, like many other Japanese brands, is far behind its European competitors when it comes to electrifying their cars. The company already has a Honda e, and now the manufacturer has unveiled its first electric crossover, the Prologue. True, the car will enter the market only in 2024.
Whatever it was, so far we have only one official image. The crossover on it is not very similar to the current Honda models. The source says that Prologue is a joint development of the Japanese giant and GM, but no details yet. It is likely that the Prologue and some General Motors electric cars will have a common platform.
Honda plans to introduce 30 new electric vehicle models by 2030 and expects sales of 2 million units. After launching the Prologue in 2024, Honda plans to begin production of new electric vehicles based on its e:Architecture architecture in 2026, and in 2027 it will have affordable electric vehicles also co-developed with GM.
