iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max smartphones will receive better screens than younger models
In September, Apple will introduce a line of iPhone 14 smartphones. And in it, older and younger models will differ significantly. At the moment, it is known that the top Pro / Pro Max will receive A16 processors, while the younger ones will have overclocked A15. Older models will be equipped with 48-megapixel cameras versus 12-megapixel for younger ones. And the screens of more expensive solutions will be deprived of “monobrows” – cutouts are expected instead. However, according to online sources, there will be at least one more difference.
Samsung, which supplies Apple displays, will use different OLED materials for different screen categories. Displays for standard models will be made from lower quality materials, while high-end models will receive top-end screens.
Samsung Display is said to be using the M11 material kit for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max displays, while the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will use the M12 kit.
It is not yet clear how much these differences will affect image quality and usability. It is also not yet known whether the use of more expensive materials will provide any visible benefits.
Earlier it was reported that without exception, all versions of the iPhone 14 will receive lenses with 7P lenses.

In Geekbench 6, the device scored 2213 and 7084 points in single-threaded and multi-threaded modes, respectively. This is significantly more than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 shows, but the new SoC Apple A17 Pro is still ahead with a score of about 2900 and 7200 points.
Moreover, if you cool the iPhone 15 Pro Max with an external fan, the result will be even higher: about 3000 and 7800 points. However, this only shows that the new iPhones do not have high-quality cooling, and in reality no one will carry an iPhone fan with them anyway.
Let us remember that Geekbench in this form is a benchmark of the processor part only. As for the GPU, yesterday we saw how the A17 Pro was significantly inferior to even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in one of the tests.
